I recently competed at US Cross Country National Championships at the beginning of January in Lake Placid, New York (where the 1980 Winter Olympics were held). One of the outcomes of these races is World Juniors, where 6 of the fastest women are selected to represent the U.S. Ski team racing in Europe. This year, due to my race results at Lake Placid I was fortunate enough to be one of those 6, printing my ticket to Lillehammer, Norway (where the 1994 Winter Olympics were held). Our biggest support is from the National Nordic Foundation (NNF) which generously subsidizes athlete costs for World Juniors. NNF requires each athlete to fundraise from at least 10 donors, with a minimum donation of $25 from each donor by the time the races start on March 2nd.
