As both a board member for the NNF, and the Head Coach for the U.S. Ski Team, I'm deeply passionate about keeping our sport affordable for everyone. At the NNF, we have a philosophy: We don't cover 100% of the programs and trips we fund. Instead, we team up with the athlete, their parents, and their club, so that anyone with the work ethic requisite of competing at the top, can now also afford to compete at the top. We help build a team around the athlete.
XC skiing in the U.S. has experienced a considerable performance jump in the past 15 years, and I think I know why. It's not because we simply lucked out with a few good athletes. It's not because a rogue wave of talent came out of nowhere. It's because our nation began working together. We formed a massive team. I think we do this better than any nation, and it's our little secret. It's no longer about being one of the select few on the U.S. Ski Team; today, it's about being one of the many members of our U.S. skiing family. That's our team. Please add your name to it.
