I am the head coach of the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team, and we are tasked with winning Olympic and World Championship medals. However, on the U.S. Ski Team, our first item of business is to maintain our national skiing culture of competing ethically, and without the use of performance enhancing drugs. At the highest level of skiing in our country, we are first interested in developing athletes that would rather lose every race as a clean athlete, than win a single race as a doper. So as you tune in this winter for any World Cup or World Championship race, whether we are winning by three seconds, or getting our butts absolutely kicked, I guarantee you that we've done it cleanly, and that it has been our best.
